Hero is a very large buckling who is brave and bold. He is always the first and foremost in his litter. He will be shown this year and depending on the results will either stay a buckling to cross to my non-related does or be wethered and found a pet home. I know the experienced breeders are probably rolling their eyes at this and thinking that every amateur thinks their buckling is stud worthy and I have no defense. He is very well bred with a pedigree I adore. He is big, well built and has a bold personality. I fully admit that my judgement is likely biased, but that is why he will be going to the shows and I can hear what 6 different judges have to say about him.
Hero is the third born of the Banshee herd. He is out of my foundation doe Alani and was sired by an excellent Castle Rock buck who was out of my favorite doe ever Sly Farms Catalina and sired by Castle Rock Black Oak who is also one of my favorites. He is a well bred little boy with many champions, several 90+ linear appraisals and milk stars in his pedigree. Hero was born 2/1/18 in the late morning as I walked in the door after rushing home from work when I spied his mother's labor on my web cams. I grabbed him up and cleaned and dried him as his mother was busy with the other two. He stood up fast and quickly found his way to nursing with an enthusiasm that would continue through his early days. Unfortunately shortly after his birth his mother accidentally stepped on him. He had been laying down and she stepped on him right in his midsection and then stood there until I shoved her off of him. He seemed really hurt after that and for a while I worried that he wouldn't live... but he not only lived, he prospered. That is how he got his name "Little Hero".
